These are in excellent conditon - thank goodness, glad they didn't have to be used as they are Lifeboat matches!
Dating from the 1950's in a bakelite container they were made by Bryant and May Ships Lifeboat matches.
Screw top lid and ribbed or groved body which was used as the striking base.
There are 25 matches and a pading cover with a card cover dated 14th Nov 1952 although hard to read.
Base shows "To ignite matches strike in groved surface"
