To commemorate the Royal Tour 1949 which was cancelled due to King George's poor health.
There were fewer of these blue glass plates made than the common clear ones.
Pressed with a fluted edge and the words ER 1949 Royal Tour ANZAC and the profiles of the King and Queen.
A deep design measuring 26cms across
There are a few bubbles from manufacture and a 'trail' of glass on one side. Lets face it these were not top quality but mass produced and a piece of history!
