A lovely old plate circa 1900 is in the Ivanhoe series.
This one is: "Prince Goyn Bandying Words with Loeckeley" which I guess we'd now say - Prince exchanging words with Loeckeley"!
Impressed Wedgwood mark and blue Wedgwood Etruria England, an F and J marks, with impressed date code GID.
This is such and interesting and unusual pattern and the blue is deep and gorgeous on a grey base.
There has been wear to the rim glaze which is rough in places and a crack emerging from a firing fault on the rim. Still displays beautifully.
Measures 37cms x 30cms.
