Antique shallow and low compote, which was for serving fruit compote and so is more of a dish than a plate. Has the impressed Wedgwood mark and date letters CHF which I think shows an 1877 date. There is a painted number A1386.
This is an oriental pattern, Chinese motifs, scrolls and writing and an oriental style urn with flowers and fish in the centre. It has a painted yellow gold thick rim.
It is quite low and wide, standing at 7cms tall and 29cms aqcross.
Good condition, very little wear to the glaze for such an old piece.
In todays world it is decorative and very useful for serving all kinds of goddies, compotes, cakes or as a useful fruit bowl.
