AAAAH! I HAVE ACCIDENTALLY DELETED ALL MY GALLERIES AND SO IN THE PROCESS OF RECREATING MY SHOP. PLEASE USE THE SEARCH BUTTON WHICH STILL WORKS WHILE I ADD THE ITEMS BACK INTO THE GALLERIES. THANKS FOR YOUR PATIENCE.
This is how papers were secured before metal staplers...
Bump paper fastener creates a beautifully trim connection between pages.
It works but is a little stiff so take care, the punch makes a hole, a slit and a tab which it then automatically threads through the slit... very dextrous manoeuvre for a handheld machine
Patented in 1914, Bump Paper Fasteners from La Crosse Wisconsin, this shiny metal version is pre-1942.
Used but working order
