A turn mold blown bubble glass punch bowl and 5 glasses from Arabia glass Finland. Ground bases.
From the Bristish Museum notes:
The 'Iglu' series was designed in 1973 after Toikka returned from a four-month tour of Southern and Cerntral America and Africa, made after having won the Lunning Prize in 1970. 'Iglu' was inspired by Mexican bubble glass. The punch bowl is model no. 575, the punch-glasses no. 576."
I have seen this described as brown but it really is a dusty pink.
The bowl is 21cms across the top and has the foil Arabia Wartsila Finland label still attached. It is signed as are all the punch glasses
Signature on the base is inscribed in script Oiva Toikka Nuutajärvi Notsö
The bowl and the little glasses have the same thick curved handle. Just gorgeous.
There are sadly only 5 glasses not 6, standing 5.5cms tall to the rim.
