This is what I would call a niave simple set as the there has been no attempt to round off the bone on the handles and the engraving isĀ all slightly different on each piece. They have all been well used and marked silver plate EPNS but they have lost a lot of the silver plating so the brassy metal underneath shows through.
They are in the original solid wooden hinged box that today would probably cost more than the cutlery!
A bread fork 16cms long and has an engraved pattern within a shield
Butter knife is 17cms and has darkening on the bone handle
The jam spoon 17.5cms long has been used the most and lost most of the silver plating
Pickle fork with the twisted handle is 19.5cms
As I say. not perfect but very rustic and very country and have been well loved, and well made as they are all still very solid, intact and useful!
