The mark to the base shows this was made for the J.E. Caldwell & Co retail store in Philadelphia. It was then sold through David C. D. Cooke antique dealer Auckland.
I just love plates that are of such quality they have the gilt trim edge on the reverse side.
Impressed mark 8-19.
Loads and loads of gilt trim in cartouches around the rim and pretty inner rim decoration with a deep blue glaze
Measures 26.5cms across.
