A pretty set, not in the best condition, but hey, they are mother of pearl handles, they have wide sterling silver bands and they are engraved with a lovely pattern!
The band is marked JAS J. A. Scholes Sheffield, around the turn of the Century 1900.
The knives and forks are both marked EPNS but no makers mark.
The bands are marked as: Crown, Lion, little t = Sheffield 1911? Quite small marks so I think this is right.
Knives measure 19.5cms and forks are 16.5cms. A set for 6.
Now for the wear - there is some loss of the silver plating and the brass metal is showing through on some pieces, the connections of some blades and MOP handles has dried out and some are weak and missing the filling in parts, a couple of bent at the connection of the handle.
Old pieces showing their age which is quite lovely.
